Dear CCS Families,

As promised, I wanted to provide you with an update on our plan to return to hybrid instruction. We have been looking at the data, considering what other schools are doing, and talking as a staff about what feels right at this moment in time. Taking all that in to consideration, it doesn’t make sense for us to jump right back in where we left off with hybrid instruction. For the time being, it is our decision to stay fully remote.

Safety of the school community is of the utmost importance to us. Because of this, we have identified several key criteria for being able to eventually return to hybrid:

  • A decline (or at minimum a stabilization) of Covid numbers in the community
  • The availability of vaccinations for our staff
  • The availability of Covid testing to be done at our school on a regular basis (see below for more details)

In addition, we will be reviewing our current Covid protocols to decide if anything needs to change before we return.

One of the additional safety measures we are currently investigating is mandatory testing for all staff and hybrid students prior to returning and approximately every two weeks after that. This is a process that would be done at school, and would act as a screener to help reduce the chances of an infected individual coming to school and spreading the illness to others.

The earliest we anticipate having ALL grade levels return to the hybrid model is March 8, the first day of the 3rd trimester. At this time we are contemplating whether we will bring back all grades at the same time, or start with our younger students (on or before March 8). As of now, we believe we will be able to get at least some students (possibly all) back in the building by March 8th. This date is not set in stone, but should be used for planning purposes.

As always, thank you for supporting Campus and for being an important part of your child’s education. Be on the lookout for a weekly update in my Sunday emails. If you have any questions regarding our plan, please contact me directly by phone or email.

Be Well,

Heidi Greene, Campus Community – Head of School
